Many people are not aware that most bioplastic bags are not really compostable and biodegradable. Even though they are called compostable, they mean industrially compostable in 12 weeks. But in the Netherlands the composting process only takes 2 weeks. This means that standard biofilm bags are not allowed in the green container and end up in the landfill.
